Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager - Modernization in Orlando, FL . This role involves managing modernization operations, employees, and projects to ensure departmental profitability and exceeding annual budgetary goals.

Essential Job Functions

• Supervise modernization superintendents and staff, providing direction, training, and communication of policies and objectives. Includes hiring, performance management, and discipline.
• Implement and oversee the safety program, conduct weekly safety audits, and promote safety awareness among employees.
• Plan, direct, and prioritize elevator modernization projects, including resource allocation using project management tools.
• Review job status using accounting reports to identify risks and opportunities; report issues proactively.
• Manage job sites from survey to completion, documenting progress, troubleshooting issues, conducting quality audits, and engaging with customers.
• Oversee subcontractor schedules and performance on turn-key projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, construction firms, and architects.
• Review and approve bids, participate in pre-bid meetings, and provide technical input on costs.
• Authorize change orders, purchase orders, and other project-related approvals.
• Stay informed about industry code requirements and company procedures.
• Attend training, review updates, and interface with corporate departments.
• Resolve customer complaints and internal issues, including union-related matters.
• Coordinate material procurement and subcontracting for project completion.
• Conduct weekly site visits to oversee safety, progress, and employee activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
