Title : Assistant IT Manager

Location : Onsite in Camden, SC
Position Summary
The Assistant IT Manager plays a critical role in supporting the IT infrastructure of a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and securely to support clinical and administrative functions. This individual will supervise system administrators and service desk technicians, oversee daily IT operations, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and best practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Supervision
- Lead and manage a team of system administrators and service desk technicians.
- Provide mentorship, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality support and system reliability.
- Coordinate staffing schedules and ensure adequate coverage for IT support across all locations.
- Systems & Infrastructure Management
- Oversee the maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure.
- Ensure timely updates, patches, and backups of all systems.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to maintain hardware and software assets.
- Service Desk Operations
- Ensure prompt and effective resolution of IT support tickets and incidents.
- Monitor service desk metrics and implement improvements to enhance user satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain documentation for common issues and solutions.
- Compliance & Security
- Ensure IT systems comply with HIPAA, HITECH, and other relevant healthcare regulations.
- Support cybersecurity initiatives including access controls, threat monitoring, and incident response.
- Assist in audits and risk assessments related to IT systems and data security.
- Project Management & Strategic Support
- Assist in planning and executing IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
- Provide input on IT strategy and budgeting aligned with the FQHC’s mission and growth.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to understand and support their technology needs.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.Experience Required
Experience in healthcare IT environments, preferably within an FQHC or similar setting.Other Knowledge and Skills
Strong leadership and team management skills.Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, and virtualization technologies.Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and healthcare compliance standards.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.Certifications
