The Facility Technician assists the Corporate Facilities Manager in managing, maintaining, and improving multiple manufacturing facilities to ensure they operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves hands-on maintenance work, coordination with contractors and vendors, and proactive facility upkeep to support production operations. Reports to the Corporate Facilities Manager.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Perform routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, safety systems) across all assigned sites.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural issues to minimize downtime
- Perform general housekeeping / janitorial duties including but not limited to small repairs, painting, cleaning, hanging / installing fixtures
- Assist in planning and executing facility upgrades, renovations, and relocations
- Up to 10% of travel between branches
- Support the Facility Manager in scheduling and supervising third-party service providers
- Maintain tools, parts inventory, and service records in an organized manner
- Ensure facilities comply with OSHA, environmental, and local building codes
- Assist in emergency preparedness and response procedures
- Coordinate scheduling to minimize disruption to manufacturing operations
- Provide input on efficiency improvements and cost-saving opportunities
- Report maintenance issues, completed work, and facility status updates to the Facility Manager
- Collaborate with production supervisors and other departments to address facility needs
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and compliance documentation
- Other related duties as assigned
Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or trade school preferred3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environmentStrong mechanical, electrical, and general repair skillsProficiency with maintenance tools and safety practices.Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.Willingness to travel regularly between multiple manufacturing locations.HVAC and / or carpentry experience a plusBenefits :
