Senior Linux System Administrator – Your Mission

Peraton is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator to support our high-impact Cyber Intelligence team in San Antonio, TX. Join us at the forefront of national security as you help operate and secure critical cloud-based repositories in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where your skills directly support global operations.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys solving complex technical problems, and is passionate about contributing to real-world cybersecurity missions.

What You'll Do

• You'll work hands-on with large-scale Hadoop and Accumulo clusters, helping maintain the stability, performance, and security of our cloud systems. Your responsibilities will include :
• Monitoring and maintaining system health across distributed environments
• Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
• Sustaining and optimizing storage systems
• Collaborating with hardware, software, security, and infrastructure teams
• Automating tasks and managing configurations using tools like Puppet, Bash, and Python
• Providing after-hours support as needed for mission-critical issues
• Ensuring compliance with system security requirements
• Participating in system design and architecture discussions
• Maintaining system scripts, patching software, and managing user accounts
• Keeping accurate hardware and system inventories
