Description

The CT Tech 2 arranges patients for Computed Tomography examinations. Produces CT images to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. Prevents patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation. Ensures patient safety by using pre-established imaging protocols and screens patients for safe administration of contrast media. Utilizes departmental policy to perform safe operation of equipment and all functions of the job. Provides complete pre and post education to patients and family. Able to evaluate competency level of others. Reports to Supervisor or Manager.

• Clinical skills

Exhibits working knowledge of all CT equipment and proceedures.

Corrects and reports accidents incidents and safety hazards.

Ask females of child bearing age if they may be pregnant.

Routinely performs proper tube warm-up for all x-ray equipment

Complete Exam Data Entry fields on all exams

Is availible to work a rotating on-call schedule to ensure 24 hour coverage of the CT Department

Qualifications

Years of Exp : 1 year of experience

Education : Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program

Licensure : Current State License; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R); Computed Tomography CT; Basic Life Support BLS - HCP
