CVSHealth is seeking a Physician, board certified in Family Medicine to join our National Virtual Primary Care Practice.

This position provides care virtually to patients primarily located in the following time zones : Pacific Time, Mountain Time and Central Time.

Qualified candidates must have an active license, in good standing, in at least one (1) of the listed states to be considered for the position.

If selected, candidates must also be willing and able to obtain licenses in any state required for the position and to meet business need.

State Licensure :

Active license as a Practicing Physician in good standing in at least one of the following states : Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Minnesota, Indiana, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama.

The Primary Care physician will lead a virtual multidisciplinary health care team in delivery of patient centric, comprehensive primary care.

As a leader of a care team, they will provide thought leadership and actively participate in constant improvement efforts surrounding clinical quality, workflows, best practices, and practice performance.

This role will also serve as a supervising physician to nurse practitioners and highest point of escalation for clinical questions for all members of the care delivery team.

In addition, this role will be responsible for providing primary care services to a panel of patients within a value-based care model.

They will be responsible for ensuring that care plans are comprehensive and evidence-based, for using innovative tools to provide excellent care, and for driving successful outcomes for all patients on their panel.

The Primary Care Physician will also act as a member of our clinical leadership team by working closely with senior leadership to manage community partnerships and participating in relevant CVSHealth committees.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Leads a virtual multidisciplinary health care team, including supervision of direct reports, direct clinical oversight of Nurse Practitioners, and serving as point of escalation for clinical questions for all care delivery team members.
  • Provides patient-centered, comprehensive, and evidence-based direct patient care
  • Actively participates in practice quality improvement plans and evaluation of practice performance metrics
  • Participates in implementation of new health technologies, products, and service programs
  • Participates in constant improvement planning and action to address patient experience, quality, accurate coding, and cost containment

Required Skills & Other Minimum Required Qualifications :

  • Completion of a Medical Residency in Family Medicine (or Med / Pediatrics)
  • 5+ years of clinical practice experience in either a family medicine or primary care practice
  • Experience leading and collaborating with other clinicians
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Knowledge of and experience with managed healthcare including quality assurance, risk management, quality improvement, population health and disease management programs
  • Familiarity with the community care delivery environment

Essential Functions :

Provide holistic, evidenced based care inclusive of accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health problems, health counseling, and disposition planning for our patients.

This includes acute, chronic, transitions of care, and wellness / prevention visits, education and treatment for pregnancy prevention, STI prevention and safe sex practices.

  • Offers and orders immunizations and injections (to include but not limited to COVID19, influenza, TB, Depo, etc.) and provides evidence-based patient / parent vaccine counseling and education.
  • Scheduled on-call rotation to provide after hours care as needed for VPC members

WORKING ENVIRONMENT :

  • Virtual Care Team members must meet minimum requirements for remote care delivery, including : broadband connectivity, a quiet setting with a neutral background to conduct visits from, and the ability to uphold patient privacy per CVSH guidelines
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to interact with patients remotely, sit, write, operate the computer and phone, speak intelligibly, and hear patient responses
  • Specific vision abilities include the ability to view and read a computer screen and other electronic devices

Education :

Medical Degree (MD or DO) and Board Certification in a Primary Care Specialty : Family Medicine (or Med / Pediatrics)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is :

$174,070.00 - $374,900.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.

The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
