Job OverviewWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in substance abuse and mental health counseling and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality therapeutic services. This role involves working with adults facing various problems with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health. You will be responsible for conducting BioPsychoSocial assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions to support clients in their journey toward substance abuse recovery.
- Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to clients using various therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and art therapy.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to inform treatment planning.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients effectively in their treatment process.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies for clients experiencing acute distress or emergencies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care and case management.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and coding standards (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT).
- Facilitate family counseling sessions and provide support for child and family dynamics.
- Offer specialized services such as addiction counseling, grief counseling, and PTSD care.
- Provide direct support for individuals with substance abuse disorders and any co-occurring mental health disorders.
- Engage in clinical research activities as needed to enhance service delivery and contribute to the field of behavioral health.
- Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications :
- A valid license as a Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent licensure in the state of practice.
- Experience working with children and families in clinical settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with telehealth practices and technologies is a plus.
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, crisis management strategies, and patient care protocols.
- Previous experience in inpatient or outpatient settings is advantageous.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, medical records management, and data collection methodologies.
