Category Managers are pioneers, implementing modern software management best practices to accelerate cost management initiatives to empower Blackbaud’s vision to power an Ecosystem of Good that builds a better world.

As a Category Manager , Software on Blackbaud’s Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Team you will have the critical role of collaborating with technology and business leaders to develop and execute on near-term and long-term Software Category Plans.

You will closely partner with a passionate and diverse team of stakeholders in Finance, Legal, Cloud Ops, Cyber Security, Engineering and Business Systems to inspire buy-in and ensure execution of strategic plans.

This is an exciting new role at Blackbaud with key influence at all leadership levels with high expectations for partnership and delivery of goals.

Your impact will be great and fundamental to the growth of the team. Ushering in new thought leadership to this function, achieving cost savings in Blackbaud’s software ecosystem to ensure we manage software spend efficiently fueling innovation and improving team capacity for critical initiatives.

What you’ll do :

  • Negotiate and review moderate to highly sophisticated contracts, amendments, addendum, SOW's, and project statements
  • Analyze spend data, licensing and subscription entitlements and utilization, supply market dynamics, category intelligence, technical and business requirements
  • Interfaces internally to leadership and externally as the procurement subject matter expert that supports management to make informed decisions
  • Understand user business objectives and requirements, and communicate processes, sourcing standards to end users
  • Analyze and summarize RFI / RFP responses and results. Partner on business case calculations, scenario modeling, and prepare recommendations for Senior Management
  • Implements strategies to best manage the supplier base for categories in scope, reviewing suppliers against contracted obligations / service levels and business expectations

What you’ll bring :

  • 3+ years of progressively challenging roles in sourcing and category management of software or related experience
  • Ability to understand and negotiate complex commercial agreements with suppliers
  • Proficient in enterprise productivity systems such as Workday, Office, etc.
  • Understanding & ability to navigate Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process
  • Expertise in spend analytics, licensing / SaaS optimization and digital business trends
  • Understanding of cost-savings calculations
  • Ability to leverage market intelligence for positive contract outcomes
  • Tangible successes in large multi-year software / SaaS and technology services negotiations
