Overview
The Telecom Solutions Architect, working within TNS’s Communications market and under the Global Network Planning umbrella, will work to support the design and deployment related to LTE and 5G Roaming, and IMS / VoLTE services involving both signaling and user plane traffic.
This position needs SME knowledge of voice interconnects via legacy- and VoIP-modeled systems; integration and testing support;
SS7, SIP, ENUM, REST, and Diameter protocols; and cross-functional work experience.
Responsibilities
Primarily performs customer and product engineering and network design in the Mobility, Voice, VoIP, and IMS domain.
Hybrid role supporting Sales & Product solutioning with customers and providing consistent feedback to the Product and Engineering teams.
Works with different internal teams and external vendors on interoperability testing with VoLTE / IMS / SIP equipment and applications.
Level 4 support troubleshooting network issues related to IMS signaling, and Voice Interconnect / Interworking.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field or relevant work experience
5-7 years of Telecom experience, including SS7 Mobile Voice / Data Interconnection, Voice Peering (IP), TAS / HLR / HSS / DRA interworking, VoLTE, VoWiFi, and IMS experience
Subject Matter Expert in SIP protocol and SIP call flow
Experience in LTE, Wireless Mobility Network Domain and IMS architecture
End-to-end experience related to Network topology and various interfaces (S1, S6a, S5 / S8, SLg, Sh, SLs, S11, SGI, CS, GM, RX, SY, GX, GY, etc.)
Protocol literacy : SIP, Diameter, ENUM, REST, DNS, SS7, ISDN, MAP, IS41, TCAP, ISUP, BICC, SCCP, H.248, GTP, IBCF, Softswitch and PSTN gateway, RCS
Experience in sizing, dimensioning, and scaling of network elements like CSCF (P / I / S / E), IMS, HSS / MME / DRA, BGCF, MGCF, SGW, MGW, SBC, MRF, TAS, Messaging, Conferencing
Good understanding of operating principles for IMS client and VoIP codecs
Working knowledge of mobile telecom networks like 3G, 4G, 5G
Working knowledge of VoWiFi-to-VoLTE handover, and vice versa
Working knowledge of STIR / SHAKEN standards and architectures
Working knowledge of Unix / Linux / C++ technologies
Ability to work in a high-pressure dynamic environment and adjust to priority changes
Ability to communicate ideas in writing, as well as verbally
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Must be proficient in Visio or equivalent design and diagramming application
Must demonstrate ability to interface within and across organizations to determine needs and gaps and independently generate ideas to solve the needs and gaps
For this role, we anticipate paying $100,000k-$140,000k annually. Any compensation range provided for this role is an estimate determined by available market data.
This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
