Program Overview
Peraton is advancing the safety, efficiency, and modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS) through the FAA's Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) contract. Network Architect
to design modern IP‑based network architectures, ensure scalability, security and technical consistency, and provide oversight of subcontractor activities to prevent design and integration issues.
Responsibilities
Design modern IP‑based network architectures for enterprise and mission‑critical environments.
Ensure scalability, security and technical consistency across all network solutions.
Provide technical oversight of subcontractor activities to prevent integration or design issues.
Develop and maintain network standards, documentation and reference architectures.
Collaborate with stakeholders, engineers and program managers to align network solutions with business and mission needs.
Conduct capacity planning, risk assessments and performance evaluations to optimize network performance.
Evaluate and recommend networking technologies and tools for future deployments.
Support incident response and troubleshooting efforts for complex network challenges.
Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in network design and security.

Basic Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship Required.
Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience or Master's degree and 6 years of experience or Associate's degree and 10 years experience or HS diploma / equivalent and 12 years experience.
Proven experience in network architecture or engineering.
Proven expertise in IP‑based network design, including routing, switching, firewalls and VPN technologies.
Strong understanding of network security principles, scalability planning and high‑availability solutions.
Experience managing subcontractor or vendor performance on complex projects.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools, QoS and troubleshooting methodologies.
Excellent analytical, communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to FAA programs or NAS systems.
Experience with FAA systems, federal modernization programs or other critical infrastructure environments.
Certifications such as CCNP / CCIE, JNCIE, or AWS / Azure Networking Specialty.
Knowledge of cloud and hybrid network architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Background in Zero Trust networking principles and SD‑WAN technologies.
Familiarity with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
Salary Range
Target Salary Range : $104,000 – $166,000. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
