Job Summary and Responsibilities : Duties include management of inventory as it relates to picking products, replenishing, requisitioning, shipping and receiving. Duties are not limited to the supply room, but extend to all areas of the hospital or facility. Responsible for pulling products for cases as assigned. Inventory technician assures that supply areas are organized, maintained, and par levels are optimized to support department demands.
Min hire rate for this role is $25.20 / hour.
Uses an automated inventory control and par leveling system for the ordering, receiving and stocking / restocking of medical supplies / equipment under the scope of the supply chain management.
Restocks supplies daily and rotates inventory supporting accurate inventory levels, generating orders / requisitions as needed.
Distributes medical supplies and equipment to patient care areas, while monitoring par levels for specific products to assure that appropriate levels are established in order not to affect patient care.
Identifies opportunities to reduce costs through the manipulation of par levels, reorder points / min / max, reduction of holding costs.
Identifies excess inventory, returning stock and processing credits.
Notifies supervisor of outdates or slow moving inventory.
Participates in the put away and validation process of perpetual inventory items; issues and credits materials from the inventory management system.
Responsible for maintaining clean and orderly stock locations, and labeling bins and handling requests to change pars.
Acts as liaison between clinical staff and supply chain management as needed.
Works with and follows instructions of buyers and Divisional Inventory Coordinator in the event of recalls to pull relevant products.
Job Requirements : One (1) year supply chain related experience or other relevant experience. Knowledge of the purpose, functionality and operation of automated ERP systems and processes (Lawson / Infor). Knowledge of the standards, practices, resources and tools applicable to inventory management, cost containment and purchasing / procurement. Knowledge of general office principles, practices, systems and equipment.
Ability to process and present data clearly. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, summarizing analysis in reports with minimal supervision. Ability to stay on task and meet deadlines. Ability to keep abreast of, and comply with, internal standards and regulatory requirements regarding product recalls, product failures and returns of outdated materials.
Ability to read, understand and communicate in English sufficient to perform the duties of the position. Ability to use office equipment and automated systems / applications / software at an acceptable level (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook). Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by the duties of the position.
