Your Opportunity Stantec's Transportation group has an immediate need for a full time, highly motivated Senior Project Manager with 15+ years of experience of successfully executing roads and highway transportation projects. Your broad skills sets will be called upon to execute a variety of tasks which may include client outreach, proposal and work plan preparation, multi-disciplinary engineering design management including the project scope, schedule and budgets, identification and assignment of team resources, provide leadership in the technical preparation of highway, roadway and street designs, quality management, business planning and account management. This senior role will be engaged in setting the strategic business plan for growth of the roads and highway business in the California region.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining strong client relationships that allow us to have a positive impact on the communities we serve and grow our people through work on exciting and challenging projects
• Develop value-added solutions to clients' needs and lead the successful pursuit of contracts for engineering and consulting services
• Increase the company's profile within the transportation industry through participation with appropriate business and professional organizations
• Lead a team of highly skilled engineers, engineers in training, technologists, designers, and interns to successfully execute projects of varying sizes and complexity
• Provide mentorship, ensure the technical development of junior designers and EIT's.
• Recommend and participate in the hiring process and decision making of new team members, with the support of Human Resources
• Participates in business development and project pursuits, leading, or contributing to preparation of work proposals to clients
• Collaboration with other engineering disciplines and supporting technical / drafting staff, coordinating the efficient production of deliverables workplan within budgets
• Provide internal leadership in design excellence, coaching, engagement, and retention
• Perform strategic planning and plan execution for both operations and business development
• Planning, organizing, and supervising the work of other transportation professionals
• Effectively negotiate, plan, monitor and deliver quality projects and consulting services
• Reviewing engineered designs and plans for conformance with applicable state, regional & local agency standards

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Education and Experience

Position will work in person and remotely to serve the BC region with a preference to have at the minimum 3 days per week in office work with some field work as required. Typical office environment includes working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
