JOB TITLE : Dentist

Reports to : Director of Dental Operations

JOB SUMMARY : The Dentist provides direct patient care, including examinations and assessments; orders appropriate and cost-efficient diagnostic tests; provides dental management or other appropriate treatment; provides appropriate follow-up care or referral; documents all patient care and advice given; enters treatment recommendations and exam notes into EHR; provides education and counseling to patients as appropriate, develops and / or implements plans for health promotion and maintains competency in accordance with the age specific needs of the patient. Patients cared for include infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : The Dentist is a working dental provider. This position requires long periods of time working in a dental operatory, sitting on stools, and leaning over patients. It requires manual dexterity of the hands, keen eyesight, and the ability to communicate with patients. Periodically, the position requires lifting or carrying items that would be appropriate in an office environment, not more than 20lbs.
