Job Summary:The Bar Specialist is an integral part of a highly motivated team focused on serving guests with an emphasis on the overall Beverage Bar department and Fresh Food guest experience to consistently meet or exceed guest expectations. This position is responsible for a wide variety of the alcoholic beverages, specialty beverages, tea and coffee production and service in the store. The position will assist with ordering, receiving, staging, and stock all products while ensuring proper product rotation. This position will uphold Company quality standards, regulatory guidelines, production standards, beverage infusion guidelines, merchandising and sales functions, inventory levels and pricing accuracy.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities : • Provide guests with a remarkable shopping experience by greeting, serving and thanking guests in a prompt, courteous and friendly manner, answering questions, and responding to their requests • Excellent guest service skills and suggestive selling ability • Train and Maintain ABC guidelines in the sale of all alcoholic beverages • Prepare alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages and serve bar patrons • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of various types of spirits, wine, beers, ales, and cocktails to advise guests on selection options and food pairing choices• Work with the Center Store Market Manager plans to collaborate on cross merchandising opportunities and latest beverage options available to the store • Timely ordering and stocking of all department beverages to ensure product availability, appeal, guest satisfaction and store profitability • Ensure accurate pricing of all merchandised items on display or shelf match store computer pricing and inventory systems • Ensures company guidelines are maintained on all cut produce for the department used for juices and department specialty products • Monitor inventory levels in the department to reduce shrink, damage, and loss while maximizing customer demands and increasing sales and profits • Oversee product received, inspected and broken-down for stocking ensure product availability • Maintain a clean and safe environment to ensure the safety of co-workers and guests • Oversee department procedures and cash handling policies within the department to support overall store goals • Perform other duties as assignedHiring pay range: $16.25 - 24.00
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
• Must be familiar with ABC guidelines for the sale of alcoholic beverages
• Knowledge of product ordering, inventory control, merchandising, and sales techniques
• Learn and retain policies and procedures, make decisions, lead and instructs employees,
recognize sale trends and indicators, work within and promote a team environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership/team building and training skills
• Excellent guest service skills, creative cutting techniques, and suggestive selling ability
• Knowledge or understanding of:
• Department operations and financials
• Fruits and vegetables nutritional value and pairing complements
• Beer and Wine varieties and selling attributes
• Trends in beverage infusion and decorative food preparation
• Department food safety and hazardous materials rules/regulations
• Visual merchandising techniques
• Use and care of professional produce tools and equipment
