Our client, based in the western suburbs of Chicago, is an industry and world leader in accessories and components related to the transport and distribution of energy for a variety of applications. This site in the western suburbs manufactures various connectors and switch gear components for automotive customers.

Job Description

• Design and execute quality assurance procedures to maintain compliance with industry regulations - ISO9001 / IATF16949
• Perform routine quality audits and inspections to pinpoint opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with manufacturing teams to develop and implement effective quality control systems.
• Evaluate data from inspections and testing to guide process and product improvements.
• Compile comprehensive reports on quality performance metrics for management review.
• Oversee initiatives focused on improving product quality and optimizing operational efficiency.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on quality standards and best practices.
• Monitor and stay informed of evolving industry standards and regulatory requirements.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelors or associates degree in a technical field
• 3-5+ years of quality engineering experience in an automotive related field
• Strong understanding of an ISO9001 environment
• Exposure to IATF16949
• Quality core tool experience - PPAP / APQP, FMEA, Control Plans
• Background in metal fabrication preferred
• Knowledge fo SPC, capability studies, and Gage R&R a plus
• Experience and willingness to grow a quality team and department
