Sr. Aircraft Systems Engineer

Job Description

A large airline client is looking for a Sr. Aircraft Systems Engineer to sit fully remote. This Engineer will be joining the Technical Operations team, reporting into the Sr.

Manager of Aircraft Systems Engineers. The team is currently working on onboarding four used 747-400 airplanes to the company's fleet, and this engineer will assist in prioritizing systems engineering actions and identifying gaps in current processes.

This person will be responsible for maintaining, developing, and analyzing documents including engineering orders and supplemental type certificates.

40% of their day will be spent verifying gaps, analyzing, and editing documents / reviewing records to ensure the used aircrafts are compliant with FAA policies.

Another 40% of their day will be spent providing guidance and mentorship to the AOG (aircraft on ground) and maintenance teams.

The last 20% of the day will be spent on meetings with departments across the Technical Operations organization for collaboration on the project and visibility.

The engineer must be coming from an airline background, as the processes vary at airplane manufacturer companies.

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of experience as an Aircraft Systems Engineer

Must come from an airline background

Strong understanding of Aircraft Systems

Landing Gear, Flight Control Systems, Cabin Control, Fuel Systems, etc.

Experience reviewing, advising, and updating records including engineering orders and STCs (supplemental type certificate)

Bachelor's degree in Engineering

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

A&P Certification
