Layout Designer

Genesis10 is seeking a Layout Designer for a full-time position with a manufacturing client located in Milwaukee, WI. Summary : The Layout Designer will support engineers by creating and updating drawing layouts using computer-aided drafting software. This role will be responsible for producing new and modified components, Bills of Materials (BOM), and ensuring accuracy and compliance with established design standards. Responsibilities : Update existing drawings per markups based on engineering direction; re-master CAD drawings to current formats. Use CAD software to create both 3D and 2D layouts in alignment with design team guidance. Perform self-checks to verify accuracy, organization, dimensioning, tolerances, and conformance to CAD specifications and standards. Utilize ERP systems to create part numbers, following proper naming conventions and data entry requirements. Support engineers with layout and drafting needs as assigned. Ensure adherence to established design standards and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications : Associate degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent with 2+ years of drafting / design experience. Preferred Qualifications : Associate degree or equivalent with 3+ years of drafting / design experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in standard Windows Office tools, including SharePoint, email, and CAD software. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
