Description
ODOT Prequalified Project Inspector needed for various projects in Lucas County.
If you are a motivated person with heavy highway construction inspection experience this might be your ideal job. Certification is required.
The Project Inspector will be responsible for :
- Inspection of various roadway and bridge projects
- Oversight of the contractor's quality control operations
- Quality assurance sampling and testing
- Daily communication with the client, contractors, and field project personnel
- Use survey instruments, metering devices, tape measures, and test equipment such as nuclear density gauges, air meters, and slump cones to perform inspections.
- Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
- Measure dimensions and verify the level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and / or pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes.
- Compile and submit field reports
- Previous inspection experience
Requirements
Required Education and Certification / s must meet one of the below :
HS Diploma or GED
Current diver's license
Previous inspection experience (1600 hours)
- Highway testing certification including but not limited to :
- ACI Concrete Field Testing-Grade I
- ACI Aggregate Testing Technician-Level 1
- Ohio Aggregate Level 1
AND one of the following certifications
- ODOT Flexible Pavement
- ODOT Traffic Work Zone Test
- CUF (Complete ODOT Commercially Useful Function) Training
