Joining Process Engineer – Advanced Manufacturing & Assembly Technologies

We are seeking a highly skilled Joining Engineer with hands-on experience in advanced automotive joining technologies . This role is critical for supporting assembly operations , ensuring optimal performance of joining systems, and contributing to the development of high-quality manufacturing processes

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the setup, calibration, and maintenance of Henrob – Dual Mag Self-Pierce Riveting (SPR) systems.
• Support and troubleshoot Aluminum Resistance Spot Welding (RSW) equipment, specifically Bosch IBOX systems.
• Implement and optimize Weber – Flow Drill Screw (FDS) processes for structural joining applications.
• Operate and maintain Stanley Pedestal Stud Welding units for secure and consistent fastener installation.
• Apply systems to ensure structural integrity and environmental sealing.
• Manage TOX – Functional Element Pedestal applications and TOX – Clinch Pedestal processes to achieve high-strength mechanical joints.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to integrate and enhance joining process technologies
• Utilize Coherix Vision Systems (but not required) for in-process inspection and vision-based quality assurance
• Support process improvement initiatives , conduct root cause analysis , and implement corrective actions for joining-related issues.
• Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and process documentation related to automotive body assembly

Qualifications

Proven experience with multiple automotive joining technologies listed above.

Strong knowledge of joining methods fastener technology , and assembly automation

Ability to work hands-on with production tooling robotic systems , and vision inspection equipment

Familiarity with production line integration quality control standards , and process validation

Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Strong communication and team collaboration abilities.

Technical certification or degree in mechanical engineering manufacturing engineering , or related field.
