About the Role
As the Senior Accountant, you will oversee a variety of accounting functions, including general ledger management, financial reconciliations, and month-end close processes. Supporting the VP of Finance & Accounting, you will influence key decision-making and occasionally act as a point of contact for the Executive Leadership Team during their absence. You’ll need a keen eye for precision, an aptitude for data analysis, and a strong commitment to process improvement and compliance.
What You’ll Do
Your core responsibilities will include :
- Managing general ledger activities and ensuring proper reconciliation and accuracy in line with established accounting standards (GAAP).
- Driving the month-end close process to deliver timely and accurate reporting.
- Preparing trial balances, performing detailed account reconciliations , and reporting any discrepancies or variances.
- Reviewing and processing essential transaction entries and journal entries, including EOY adjustments from external auditors.
- Serving as a liaison for accounts payable / receivable (AP / AR) to resolve issues, analyze variances, and provide transactional support.
- Supporting financial planning activities such as the annual budgeting process and year-end financial reviews.
- Reviewing time card submissions while ensuring internal processes and procedures are followed.
- Assisting with specialized accounting projects related to operations, including harvest accounting.
- Developing and documenting internal processes and policies while maintaining robust internal controls.
- Performing additional accounting and finance duties as assigned.

Required Skills
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.3–5 years of experience in accounting roles, with exposure to core financial functions.Solid understanding of accounting principles , financial reporting, and internal control frameworks.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to manage complex data with advanced features.Excellent written and verbal communication skills to deliver clear, concise reporting and collaborate across departments.Preferred Experience
Familiarity with financial workflows in industries like agriculture or wineries is highly desirable.A track record of successfully identifying problems, gathering and analyzing information, and reaching sound conclusions.Experience with accounting system or ERP implementations is a significant plus.What You Bring to the Table
