Job descriptionEstimate labor hours and material costs for manufacturing activities tied to proposals and contracts. Apply established pricing methodologies and estimating tools to produce detailed, data-driven cost projections. Partner with Manufacturing and Customer Program Managers to develop comprehensive labor hour estimates. Collaborate with vendors and the Purchasing Manager to build consolidated, priced Bills of Material (BOMs). Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documents to determine machining and manufacturing requirements. Develop and maintain time standards for CNC and manual machining processes, including setups and run times. Support bid preparation, vendor / subcontractor evaluation, and cost-effectiveness analysis. Maintain the estimating database and ensure the accuracy and consistency of cost data for future use. Prepare written estimates and present cost findings and recommendations to management. Continuously refine estimating practices based on production feedback, performance data, and industry benchmarks. Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, materials (aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, composites), and aerospace / defense manufacturing standards. Proficiency in ERP / MRP systems, estimating software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proven ability to interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external suppliers. Solid business acumen with a focus on cost control, accuracy, and competitiveness. Experience :
- 3+ years of experience in CNC machining, cost estimating, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Previous Aerospace experience (Required).
Type : Full-time; Direct Hire
Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm
