The City of Kenner Civil Service Department is offering a job opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance and Repair Technician. General Description

One current vacancy for a 40 hours per week position. This role involves skilled electrical maintenance and repair work in the maintenance of facilities and related equipment and systems for the General Services Department. It also includes duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of City environmental control systems including heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment.

Duties of Responsibilities

Essential job functions include troubleshooting and repairing streetlights, lighting, and electrical systems; installing new electrical circuits; maintaining and repairing traffic signals; and performing general electrical work. Additional job functions include reporting to work during emergency situations and providing backup support for other coworkers.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires some vocational school training supplemented by ten years of electrical maintenance and repair experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Additionally, possession of an A / C Refrigeration card and EPA Technician certification and a current, valid Louisiana drivers license Class E or higher is required.
