Job Description
Assists EVS Supervisors and Team Leads in delivering and maintaining a high level of quality and productivity by effectively supporting, organizing, mentoring and motivating EVS Techs assigned to a particular area / department / project. Performs daily cleaning and supplying of patient rooms, units, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices and other assigned areas in accordance with the standards set by the Environmental Services Department and in accordance with hospital objectives in support of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta's mission, vision and values. Proactively support efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and to promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Experience
2 years of experience in a fast-paced environment or completion of an externship program approved by Children'sPreferred Qualifications

Must be able to read, write and speak English.Must exhibit personality conducive to the support of family centered care philosophy.Detailed knowledge of the correct use of chemicals, supplies and equipment.Understands procedures for handling, mixing, using, labeling and disposal of all chemicals used in performing job functionsKnows correct methods for cleaning up spills and the procedure for reacting to chemical exposuresAbility to effectively organize, coordinate and support EVS Techs assigned to an area / unit in order to accomplish tasks and projects.Ability to function independently, apply good judgment and make sound decisions.Problem solving ability and strong communication and organizational skills.Job Responsibilities
Routinely provides excellent service in interactions with all customers, i.e. coworkers, patients, visitors, physicians, volunteers, etc.Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods; dust horizontal surfaces, empty waste containers, remove trash, clean furniture, clean fixtures, mop floors, replenish room supplies, make beds as needed, and perform routine cleaning as assigned.Complies with procedures for handling, mixing, using, labeling and disposal of all chemicals used in performing job-functions.Supports and participates in the continuous assessment and improvement of quality of services provided.Effectively facilitates admission, transfer, and discharge processes through timely, efficient room turnover; escalate barriers to the appropriate leader.Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.Mentors EVS Techs in daily assignments, goals and objectives; supports training needs in specific areas.Be visible and available to EVS Techs seeking opportunities to contribute and problem-solve.Communicates status of team activities and progress to team leads and supervisors.Demonstrates competence as described in the Children's Leadership Essentials.Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions.Demonstrates adherence to the Children's Compliance Program and non-retaliation policy; attends appropriate compliance training.Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants and employees without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, citizenship, age, veteran status, disability or any other characteristic covered by applicable law.
