Tractor Trailer Driver

Position Summary :

The Tractor Trailer Driver is responsible for safely operating a tractor trailer to transport goods between designated pickup and delivery locations. This role ensures the proper loading, securing, and protection of all cargo, including store deliveries, donation pickups, raw materials, and finished goods. The driver will maintain consistent communication with dispatch and represent Goodwill Central Texas in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities :

• Safely operate a tractor trailer to and from designated locations.
• Maintain communication with the dispatch team via radio, cellphone, or digital systems.
• Properly load, secure, and protect all transported goods.
• Complete all required documentation accurately, including manifests, vehicle inspection reports, driver logs, donation count sheets, and truck seals.
• Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle issues promptly to the supervisor.
• Perform daily operator-level vehicle maintenance, including checks for fuel, oil, lubricants, water, antifreeze, and overall vehicle condition.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed while at loading docks (e.g., tire chocking).
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance that reflects Goodwill Central Texas standards.
• Deliver excellent customer service to stores, donors, and the general public.
• Attend all required meetings and training sessions.
• Meet attendance and punctuality expectations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

This position does not have supervisory duties.
