Contract Specialist

Position Summary : The Contract Specialist assists with estimating, proposal development and procurement of master service agreements and site-specific projects for distribution, transmission and substation construction across a mix of customers. This position will establish and maintain a positive relationship with customers while ensuring Pike's project management and field operations teams are supplied with the pertinent contractual information necessary to perform all work per specification in a safe, cost-effective, and timely manner. Contract Specialist are expected to develop industry skills and to have the ability to work independently.

Essential Functions :

• Assist with estimates and proposals for site specific projects and master service agreements.
• Review project plans and specifications and coordinate with the project team to confirm complete scope.
• Participate in customer pre-bid meetings.
• Identify risk issues and their order of magnitude.
• Solicite subcontractor and / or supplier information and pricing.
• Build effective relationships with customers, design team, specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups.
• Assist with contract negotiation and work with project team to establish the system to carry out the contract including management of subcontractors and material procurement.
• Assist with contractual meetings.
• Management and support of emergency and storm restoration events.
