Job Summary
The Financial Aid Administrator is a seasoned professional contributor working under limited supervision who works to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results within Financial Aid area.
Reviews and manages the international tax workflow process to ensure international students are being reviewed and the appropriate tax is being applied.
Assists with daily over-award COGNOS report for students who are receiving scholarship over cost of attendance or need per federal regulations.
The administrator will be responsible for resolving over-awards to ensure we are compliant with university and federal regulations.
Coordinates scholarship customer service statistics. The administrator is responsible for being the representative and sitting on a committee for two unique scholarships that we award in partnership with a campus partner.
Manage and award the application based DFA scholarships as well as the National Merit and National Recognition Programs.
As a member of the Scholarship Area, provide support particularly in the areas of institutional scholarship awarding and administration, policy development, quality assurance reporting, program testing, and campus communications.
This position will be part of the Division of Financial Aid counseling team that consists of assisting students and their families via phone, email, in-person and virtually.

What You Will Be Doing
While working under limited supervision responsible for reviewing and managing the international workflow process between DFA and the Tax Office.
Coordinate with campus partners and the Banner Support team to assist students with international tax issues.
- Maintain and compose weekly scholarship area customer service statistics for Assistant and Associate Director.
- Responsible for the National Merit and National Recognition Programs.
- Work and assist with resolving Over-award report in Cognos. Works under limited supervision to identify students that are in an over-award or over need situation;
resolve issues, revise student aid, and communicate with stakeholders.
- Represent DFA and sit on a scholarship committee for Class of 1937 and Charles O. McGaughey Leadership award in partnership with the Roger C Stewart Leadership and Professional Development Department.
- Monitor, manage and coordinate with the Purdue Study Abroad Office concerning the allocation, disbursement, and cancellation of Purdue Moves scholarships.
- Assists with managing and awarding application based DFA funds.
- Review the scholarship area manual and make updates to increase accuracy and program compliance.
- Support the financial aid team in outreach activities within the University and through outside events.
- Ability to review summer, fall, and spring financial aid eligibility separately.
- Repackage students based on enrollment changes or other adjustments to financial aid eligibility.
- Plan workload and assist in training of student support during the summer / academic year (non-direct report).
- Assist in the ongoing training full-time staff individually and as a group.
What We Are Looking For
Required : Bachelor’s Degree
Bachelor’s Degree
Four (4) years of customer service experience
Strong writing, customer service, and communication skills and attention to detail
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Must be a US citizen
Preferred :
Financial Aid and funds management experience, Microsoft Excel, and database / technical experience.
Ability to balance interruptions, perform multiple and varied tasks, and handle confidential information with discretion is important.
Possess a knowledge of Federal Methodology and the impact of SAI changes on financial aid eligibility.
Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and institutional awarding criteria
