Requirements

• Required For Presentation : active MS DEA in hand, and active board certification in hand
• Accepting IMLC as of 11 / 6 / 2025
• Minimum Formal Training : Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA-approved residency training program in internal medicine or family medicine.Exception : Residents in year 2 or greater from an accredited program moonlighting in Hospital Medicine when needed to meet the demand for services deemed necessary by the MEC.Board Certification : Current certification and active participation in the examination process leading to certification in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine or by the American Board of Family Practice or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Family MedicineReappointment : Maintenance of Board Certification required for reappointment eligibility. (unless an exception exists as stated in the Medical Staff Bylaws)Failure to obtain board certification within the required timeframe, or failure to maintain board certification, will result in automatic relinquishment of privileges.Required Previous Experience : (required for new applicants)Applicants must be able to demonstrate provision of inpatient or outpatient services to at least 30 patients in the last 12 months or demonstrate successful completion of a hospital-affiliated accredited residency, special clinical fellowship or researchException : Extenuating circumstances to be considered by the PEC & MECApplicants for initial appointment may be requested to provide documentation of the number and types of hospital cases during the past 24 months. Applicants have the burden of producing information deemed adequate by the Hospital for a proper evaluation of current competence and other qualifications.Clinical References : (required for new applicants)Three professional references, preferably from your specialty area who have recently worked with the applicant and directly observed his / her professional performance over a reasonable period of time and who will provide reliable information regarding current clinical competence, ethical character and ability to work with others.
