Ehs Manager
Program Development and Implementation :
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Establish emergency response plans and conduct regular drills and training sessions
- Develop and ensure safe equipment operating techniques in partnership with Operations
- Establish PPE requirements based on the job-specific requirements
Regulatory Compliance :
Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations regarding environmental health and safetyEnsure the company's compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state and local regulatory agenciesPrepare and submit required reports and documentation to regulatory bodiesConduct periodic plant safety inspections to ensure safety procedures are in placeDetermine corrective or preventative measures, assign responsibility, and follow up to ensure the corrective measures have been implementedInitiates, documents, and monitors corrective actions for adherence to safety systemsTraining and Education :
Develop and deliver training programs for employees on EHS policies, procedures, and regulationsPromote a culture of safety through continuous education and awareness initiativesMaintain safety training recordsMentor junior staff in EHS management and compliance program development and implementationIncident Investigation and Reporting :
Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actionsMaintain accurate records of incidents and corrective actions takenKeeps the facility management team informed of safety concerns and Leading EHS metricsWork with contractors to ensure they have a robust safety program and are trained in any unique site requirementsEnvironmental Management :
Oversee waste management, pollution control, and other environmental programsEnsure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materialsImplement initiatives to reduce the company's environmental footprintHealth and Wellness Programs :
Develop and manage programs to promote employee health and wellnessCoordinate with healthcare providers and insurance companies for health-related programs and servicesManage Workers' Compensation claims, incident investigations, reporting and employee return to work process. Determine the root causes, hazards, and implement solutionsContinuous Improvement :
Monitor EHS performance metrics and identify areas for improvementImplement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance EHS performanceWorking Conditions :
This position will require occasional travel to different company locations in Houston, DFW, Florida and Southern CaliforniaThe role may involve exposure to hazardous conditions and materials, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)What you'll need :
Preferred Bachelor's degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science and / or related engineering disciplineTitle V air permitting experienceMinimum of 7 years of EHS leadershipStrong regulatory experience with OSHAStrong regulatory experience with Federal, State and local environmental control agenciesExperience managing environmental permitting activities, preferredExperience implementing key management systems / controls such as Permits, Plans, License & Registration, and Compliance CalendarWorking Conditions :
