UI Claims Examiner Associate (UI Claims Examiner I)

The Georgia Department of Labor is accepting applications to fill multiple UI Claims Examiner Associate positions in the Benefits Payment Control Unit.
These are twelve-month time-limited positions with benefits located at different Career Centers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews unemployment insurance claims for overpayments
- Establishes and investigates fraud and non-fraud overpayments
- Processes Employer and Claimant Wage Audit Notices
- Conducts fact-finding procedures on an overpayment to determine whether the overpayment was due to fraud
- Processes payments received and prepares daily deposit
- Reviews appeals that are remanded to the overpayment unit
- Reviews New Hire information received
- Identifies any issue(s) and determines the correct department(s) to address the issue(s)
- Performs daily clerical and follow-up tasks in support of overpayment / fraud investigation activities
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience working in the unemployment insurance benefits program
- Two years of experience performing duties related to determining program eligibility

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university OR High school diploma or GED AND Three years of related experience.
