ICU RN Job Details Location : Portsmouth, Virginia (23707) – Coastal Virginia nursing jobs Healthcare Setting : 17-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Start Date : November 17, 2025 End Date : February 14, 2026 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour nights (includes every other weekend and holiday) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary : $1880 - $2020 Floating : Required to similar or lower acuity units and between facilities as needed Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (Virginia nursing jobs) Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience Previous travel nurse experience preferred BLS and ACLS certifications required NIH Stroke Certification required (can be obtained prior to start) Must pass Dysrhythmia exam at orientation (study guide provided) No local candidates (must reside over 50 miles from facility) ICU Nurse Responsibilities Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate treatment outcomes Administer medications and manage advanced life-support technology (ventilators, CRRT, IABP, Impella, ECMO, advanced respiratory modalities) Conduct hemodynamic monitoring and care for patients with multi-system organ failure, sepsis, renal failure, COPD, and heart failure Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for patient care coordination Float to similar or lower acuity units and between facilities as needed Promote patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives Educate patients, families, and staff; support patients coping with critical illness Ready to take your ICU nursing skills to the next level in Portsmouth, Virginia?
