As a member of the Research Finance team, the Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for financial oversight of the grants & contracts closeout procedure, working closely with Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) to ensure compliance with all federal and state reporting regulations and institutional policies and procedures.
They will also own the Effort Certification Process for all externally funded projects. Responsibilities include in-depth financial analysis and forecasting, review of final cost transfers, effort certifications / allocations, revenue, overdraft resolution, billable vs.
non-billable expenditure variance analysis, managing effort certifications through the ECC module. Sr. Financial Analyst also assists with Labor Distribution Schedule (LDS) maintenance, approves the final financial reports.
Sr. Financial Analyst plays a key role in the overall financial management of extramural funding and serves as a subject matter expert for problem resolution and financial support to Principal Investigators, Nemours associates, and external entities, as needed.
Essemtial Functions :
- Prepares and updates Grant Closeout Worksheet Analysis form at the 120-, 90-, 60- and 30-days intervals.
- Completes Financial Analysis closeout package which includes review of : expenditure, outstanding commitments, remaining balances, forecasting, and effort analysis.
- Meets with Principal Investigator (PI) and OSP Post-award to present the financial information for review.
- Responsible for financial reconciliations : Grant Revenue, Billable vs. Non-billable expenditures
- Ensures Subcontractor Final Invoice is accounted for on the final closeout, or commitment / obligated if not received at the award closeout date.
- Reviews and approve the Final Financial Report (FFR) and final invoices.
- Confirm all Labor Distribution Changes have been reflected.
- Oversee the entire effort certification process including facilitating the quarterly certifications, tracking outstanding & completed certifications, & acting as the point of contact for any adjustments needed.
- Work alongside accounting to ensure and monitor activity that new transactions are not posted after closeout process is complete.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree required
- A minimum of three years relevant finance experience required
