Job Description :
Assists in all aspects of the month-end close process including but not limited to, preparing journal entries; reviewing general ledger balances; income and expense analysis; report generation and distribution; other duties as assigned. Assists with tax returns and participates in internal as well as external audits. Assists with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Assists in assigned aspects of the month-end close process. Prepares month-end journal entries, analysis, and schedules to ensure reliable and accurate reporting of operations.
- Applies accounting policies and principles to properly record, report, and maintain financial data.
- Responsible for timely completion of assigned balance sheet reconciliations
- Assembles and provides financial data and analysis for internal audit, external audit, tax returns, cost & government reporting.
- Prepares government compliance reports (or assist with larger reporting projects) for State and Federal agencies.
- Provides financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making, including operational targets.
- Evaluates contracts and transactions, determines and documents the accounting treatment is in conformity with GAAP. Maintains a high level of proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Develops a thorough understanding of information databases and other interfaces to ensure accurate recording to the General Ledger.
- Assists with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance.1-2 years' accounting experience required; Recent college grads with no experience will be considered.Knowledge of preparation of financial statements, journal entries, accounting systems, budgeting, tax, and fixed asset depreciation.Ability to work independently with accuracy and accountability and as a team.Strong organization, problem-solving and time management skills.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Strong analytical and reconciliation skills necessary.Ability to manage deadlines and changing priorities.Knowledge of finance ERP applications preferred, i.e. Peoplesoft.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, etc.) required.Healthcare accounting experience preferred.Your Extraordinary Career Starts Here
