Job description

We’re seeking a Senior RAN System Engineer (Network QA Engineer III) to join our Wireless Network QA team in Plano, TX. In this role, you’ll validate 4G / 5G RAN software, troubleshoot call processing issues, and ensure feature performance meets operator requirements. If you have deep 3GPP Layer 2 / 3 knowledge and vendor-side RAN experience (Samsung, Ericsson, or Nokia), this is an excellent opportunity to work hands-on with next-generation wireless technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate and test 4G / 5G RAN software features in lab and customer environments.
  • Analyze network logs , troubleshoot integration and performance issues.
  • Support software release validation , KPI reviews, and feature sign-offs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customer engineering groups.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation for release approval.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8–12 years in wireless system engineering or vendor RAN validation .
  • Strong expertise in 4G / 5G call processing and 3GPP Layer 2 / 3 protocols (RRC, NAS, MAC, RLC) .
  • Hands-on experience with SA / NSA , Massive MIMO , and Hybrid Beamforming .
  • Proficiency in scheduler algorithms , KPI analysis, and network log interpretation.
  • Strong analytical mindset, communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering , Computer Science , or related field (master’s preferred).

    • Preferred Background

  • Vendor or operator-side experience ( Samsung, Ericsson, Nokia ) strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with LTE-NR coexistence , 5G numerologies , and 3GPP Rel-15 / 16 features.
  • Exposure to scheduler-level troubleshooting and SW validation cycles .
