RESPONSIBILITIES :
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Worker is directly accessed via an answering service and is to respond by phone within 15 minutes during the entirety of shift. Provides face-to-face mental health evaluations in hospital emergency rooms, police stations and at people’s home as needed.Provides consultation with other service providers regarding referrals and other resources.Provides consultation with other clinical staff relevant to clinical issues with clients.Consults with the administrator-on-call, and psychiatrist-on-call, to discuss concerns / difficult clinical situations, issues with system / providers, incident report level issues, state contract bed and children’s admissions and exploration of optionslternatives, and also for support.Has knowledge base and can access all resources for hospitalization and crisis stabilization / hospital diversion.Will complete documentation including incident reports of every contact that occurs as well as results from consult with the administrator or psychiatrist on-call. Will be responsible for obtaining shifts or information about client’s in crisis ½ hour prior to the beginning of their shift.Will provide report after every shift by 8 a.m. on Monday through Friday and by 8 a.m. on Monday from every weekend shift. Will complete all documentation and forward to a regional mental health center 24 hours after the completion of their shift.Refer clients to other community resources as needed.Attend all necessary meetings as assigned. Will provide supervision and consultation to assigned on-call clinicians who require training in emergency services protocol.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : All workers must have an R.N.nd / or Master’s Degree for above in a related mental health program to be eligible for on-call. NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : All R.N’s are required to have a nursing license.Any other licenses will be forwarded to personnel and also the business office for billing purposes.Must be certified or certifiable by Department of MHRH as an Emergency Services clinician.Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team, self-motivated.JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY : Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from professionals, managers, clients, family, and the general public.Ability to reach, analyze, and interpret professional journals, policy procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to clearly and cogently document clinical and other information in accordance with Policies and Procedures.Ability to write reports and general correspondence.Possess an empathetic attitude toward clients and family members balanced by an ability to maintain professional objectively and commitment to professional values such as self-determination, confidentiality and self-awareness.Ability to successfully complete all required training and certificationsOral and written communication skills, including speech, grammar, spelling, and legibility are at sufficient level to ensure effective and appropriate communication.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals either manually or by use of a calculator.ETHICS : Uses and accesses information in client’s health information record or about a client only as necessary to actual duties and then only in accordance with access levels assigned to this position by Gateway Healthcare Inc. from time-to-time and in accordance with Gateway Healthcare Inc. policies, rules, and procedures as adopted by Gateway Healthcare Inc. from time-to-time. Pay Range : $17.00-$26.60
