Aegis is seeking a lab technician to join our client's organization in Chicago, IL. Please note- this is not a sterile lab environment!! The ideal candidate has the following skills and qualifications :

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience working in steel manufacturing or physical lab setting- avoid medical and sterile environments.
• 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, machining, or metals manufacturing
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Experience following work instructions
• Experience with data documentation- basic computer skills (MS office applications- Excel and word)
• Maintenance experience : Mazak tooling & jaws, abrasive sand systems, band saws, tensile and impact testing machines.
• Lab equipment experience : Carbide inserts, cnc tooling, grinding papers, and saw blades.
• Material testing experience : tensile testing, impact testing, chemical analysis, microstructure and macrostructure evaluation, microcleanliness, Jominy hardnenability, and grain size determination.

Nice to have :

Experience with ISO 9001 quality management system
