Job description

This role is for experienced mechanical builders only.

We are a long-established manufacturer of custom gearboxes and power transmission equipment used in demanding industrial applications. The work is hands-on, precise, and requires real mechanical judgment. Because of the complexity of the products, this is not an entry-level role and is not suitable for inexperienced technicians.

If you’ve spent years building, fitting, and aligning mechanical systems—and you take pride in doing it right—this role offers challenging, meaningful work.

Why experienced technicians choose this role

  • You build engineered, custom products, not repetitive mass-production parts

  • The work requires skill, accuracy, and problem-solving

  • Clean, organized shop with proper tools and realistic expectations

  • Stable, long-term employment with respect for craftsmanship

  • Trust and autonomy—no micromanagement

What you’ll do

  • Assemble industrial gearboxes, reducers, and mechanical systems

  • Fit and align gears, shafts, bearings, housings, and seals

  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications

  • Measure and verify tolerances using micrometers, calipers, and gauges

  • Perform alignment, torque sequencing, and final adjustments

  • Support functional testing or run-in as needed

Required experience (important)

This is a skilled position.

To be considered, you must have:

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on mechanical or precision assembly experience

  • Proven experience working with tight tolerances

  • Strong blueprint reading skills (basic GD&T)

  • Regular use of precision measuring tools

  • Experience assembling complex mechanical systems

If you do not yet have this level of experience, this role will not be a good fit.

Backgrounds that often succeed here

  • Gearbox, reducer, or transmission assembly

  • Machining or CNC with strong assembly/fit-up experience

  • Automotive or heavy equipment powertrain or drivetrain

  • Industrial mechanical maintenance or rebuild work

Titles matter less than depth of experience and mechanical aptitude.

If this sounds like the kind of work you enjoy—and matches your background—we’d be glad to talk.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
