The Lead Driver role supports drivers, Lab Ops, Sales, and CS during operational hours and will act as a driver and TPA when needed. The position involves facilitating reliable and flexible deliveries to labs, tracking inbound and outbound flight schedules, and communicating schedules and changes in a timely manner. The transportation lead driver may serve as a decision maker when a manager or supervisor is not available.
Responsibilities
- Oversees and directs drivers and floaters on their assigned routes
- Manages all inbound and outbound flights for the region
- Schedule Cyto flights when needed
- Assist in transportation operations after 6 pm, including contacting vendors and addressing urgent issues
- Communicate additional information or changes to call-ins / stops from clients / CS to drivers
- Assist drivers with questions or concerns and provide problem resolution on route
- Monitor and confirm that all packages are picked up and delivered properly
- Communicate transportation delays to the lab in a timely manner and use tools to minimize delays
- Coordinate with RTM on issues that arise during a route
- Ensure compliance with all TMS / AGL processes including driver check-ins, delays, float driver use, audits, and verification counts
- PM and Weekend management of AGL emails / incidents across locations
- Assist in other duties relevant to transportation services
- Coordinate with Supervisor to track Antech vehicles that need maintenance and arrange repairs
- Uphold ethical standards and company policy; report concerns or violations as required
Education / Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
