Job descriptionStudy specifications and plan procedures to determine timing, staffing requirements, and equipment / tools needed for the project. Consult with Estimators on bids. Review contracts and purchase orders. Consult with Project Managers on cost-to-complete estimates, billing support documentation, and schedules as needed. Visit job sites regularly to effectively direct, coordinate, and support foremen and crews in the division. Ensure foremen understand and operate within the project budget. Inform Project Managers of any changes occurring in the field. Inspect work in progress to ensure quality and conformity to plans. Work safely and maintain a safe workplace in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies. Ensure compliance with submittals, client schedules, and proper scheduling of WEC vendors. Provide technical expertise and make decisions that protect and benefit both the company and the customer. Review and approve vendor and subcontractor invoices prior to payment. Ensure field teams process Daily Extra Work Reports (DEWRs) in a timely manner. Participate in the overall management and planning activities of the company. Maintain regular client contact and document significant verbal communications. Attend bi-weekly scheduling meetings, departmental meetings, and weekly foremen’s or project meetings at job sites as needed. Interact effectively and professionally with other employees and customers. High school diploma. BA degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred. Ten (10) or more years of construction experience encompassing sitework, underground utilities or asphalt paving. Five (5) or more years of construction supervision experience. Experienced in blueprint reading, elementary surveying, construction methods, and supervision Provides full support to foremen Effective communicator in English Strong planning, training, and motivational skills Ability to monitor financial performance and manage change Knowledgeable in construction equipment Familiar with local site conditions, agency standards, local vendors, and subcontractors Knowledge of OSHA and other safety regulations Understanding of specific agency specifications and requirements in area of expertise Aware of employee certification requirements in area of expertise Benefits Health, vision, Life insurance, and dental insurance plans offered. Matching 401K contributions. Paid vacation time off. Pay is $55-$65 per hour based on experience. Nearly every aspect of these services is completed in-house, utilizing Western employees and equipment. This full-service full-commitment approach, and over 40 years of experience, is what has established Western as the Sitework Specialist in the greater Sacramento area. We often have Section 3 work.
