Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required before first shift

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required before first shift

Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience (2 years preferred)

Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission and develop individualized care plans

Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to identify teaching needs and set goals

Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly

Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning from admission

Communicate changes in patient status to healthcare providers to ensure continuity and safety

Supervise and guide Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees

Promote patient and employee safety by following hospital guidelines and safety policies

Contribute to unit teamwork, participate in team-building activities, and maintain a supportive work environment

Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after orientation
