The Medical Assistant 2 provides essential support and administrative services to the office, the doctors, and the patients in a fast-paced doctor's office. This person will be involved in a wide spectrum of tasks focused around assisting the Physician in all minor in office procedures, as well as being cross-trained in all aspects of the Front Desk Receptionist role to include scheduling, data entry, and maintaining patient records.
Medical Assistant 2 Essential Functions / Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) :
- Greet patients, take vitals, update medical records, and prepare patients for exams
- Assist with injections, wart treatments, nail care, diabetic shoe fittings, and minor surgeries
- Perform X-rays and basic podiatric care
- Handle front desk tasks : scheduling, insurance verification, and patient payments
- Maintain clean, fully stocked exam rooms; prep, clean, and autoclave instruments
- Follow up with patients post-procedure
Medical Assistant 2 Required Skills and Experience :
High School Diploma or GEDCompletion of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR 2+ years of experience in a similar clinical roleStrong experience assisting with medical procedures, wound care, DME, and surgical prepFamiliarity with medical terminology, CPT / ICD-10 codes, insurance processes, and EMR systemsStrong communication and teamwork skillsKnowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy practices (mandatory)Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-paced environmentExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsTechnologically savvy; proficient in Microsoft 365 products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and TeamsMedical Assistant 2 Pay Range :
