Medical Assistant

Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office.
Responsibilities include :
- Rounding with patients in practice to ensure Excellent Patient Experience is met.
- Assisting with performing patient assessments and treatments under the supervision of physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse.
- Obtaining and accurately documenting patient vital signs, height and weight, taking brief history on current illness or injury, current medications, allergies, required screenings, and other pertinent information as appropriate.
- Performing administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including scanning, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
- Activating My Chart Accounts where appropriate. Ensuring Telehealth connectivity for scheduled appointments and troubleshooting as needed.
- Performing basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection, including phlebotomy, splint application and procedural tray / room set-up.
- Following up on reported issues and assisting with service recovery.
- Reviewing patient charts to ensure imaging is available and all pertinent information to maximize appointment.
- Maintaining equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning / disinfection per protocol, and troubleshooting. Maintaining examination areas.
- Reviewing / documenting Social Determinants. Providing education / resources as needed.
- Managing and facilitating all in-basket messages and patient phone calls.
- Monitoring and communicating changes in patient condition. Documenting patient care provided. Providing discharge instructions and following up with patient as needed. Recognizing and seeking help in emergent situations.
