Position Summary
Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center, located in Medford, is a 378-bed regional referral and level 2 trauma center featuring the latest medical technology and clinical expertise all administered with a patient-focused philosophy. Our hospital team delivers nationally recognized heart and vascular care, orthopedic services, and cancer care, as well as a comprehensive range of other key services including neurology and neurosurgery, bariatric surgery, rehabilitation services, work health, diabetes care, hospice services, a primary stroke center, an accredited hospital-based sleep center, and the regions only neonatal intensive care unit.
Our state-of-the-art Emergency Department at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC) sees an average of 130 patients a day. It is a level 2 trauma center. We have 39 rooms with 20 designated as high acuity, 5 moderate / low acuity, 4 Psych flex rooms and 5 Triage rooms. RN to patient ratios are : 1 : 1 - 1 : 4 depending on acuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Working alongside a team of highly trained physicians, nurses, and techs to provide both efficient and excellent emergency care.
- Providing the upmost care to emergency room patients through stabilization and monitoring of current health conditions.
- Advising patients on their current condition and educating them on continued care.
- Quickly and safely assessing Emergency Room patients and prioritizing based on acuity measures.
Position Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.Experience
Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department and / or Critical Care experience is required OR ,Previous experience in one of the below is required;9 Months of Clinical Decision Unit RN experience at Asante.Emergency Department Technician.Completion of practicum hours in an Emergency Department during nursing school.Previous EMS Licensure.Required Licensure / Certifications :
RN : Registered Nurse licensed by Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN), upon start.BLS : Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified through the American Heart Association (AHA), upon start.ACLS : Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified by American Heart Association (AHA), upon start.PALS : Pediatric Advanced Life Support certified by American Heart Association (AHA), upon start.TNCC : Trauma Nurse Core Course within 4 months of hire or equivalent for subsequent renewals. Requirement may be waived for short term emergency staffing needs if prior experience in area of specialty is adequate.Preferred Licensure / Certifications :
CEN : Certified Emergency NurseFor New Graduate RN's ONLY (as defined by the hob description) : if any additional certifications are required for the unit, as listed on the position qualifications, you have 4 months from your hire date to acquire them. (BLS and RN are still required at the date of hire for all RN's).
