Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center with a CT RN license and TNCC required.
Responsibilities
Work in the Emergency Department of a large, short-term acute care hospitalLevel I Trauma Center environmentAssignment consists of four 12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM)Average patient ratio is 1 : 6 for both days and nightsFloat required within scope to meet facility needsTravelers do not work in trauma / rescue rooms, triage, or locked behavioral health unitsEpic EMR is used; experience preferredWeekend work required every other weekendNo on-call requiredAssignment may involve rotation between campusesProvide emergency care in a fast-paced trauma center environmentWork as part of a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity settingTravelers are not assigned to trauma / rescue, triage, or locked behavioral health areasBlock scheduling requests can be accommodatedReturn travelers must not have worked at the facility as permanent staff within the past 2 yearsMaximum of 7 days of requested time off will be automatically approved; longer requests require facility approvalFirst-time travelers are not accepted for this assignmentScrub color or dress code will be provided upon assignmentParking is available for a monthly feeRequirements
Active CT RN license required, or must be obtained prior to startCurrent BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications requiredMinimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience preferred; will consider 1.5 years if from a similar large trauma facility or with travel experiencePrior experience in a large Level I Trauma Center necessaryPre-employment modules to be completed before startFlu vaccine required with no declinations acceptedCOVID-19 vaccine and booster required unless exempted for medical or religious reasonsMust provide at least one professional referenceCandidates considered local if residing within 75 miles are not eligibleBenefits
