Summary :
As a Nursing Assistant under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Nurse, you will play a critical role in patient care by assisting with routine activities while also performing essential clerical and organizational tasks. Your supportive efforts will contribute to a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities :
- Meet the OneCHRISTUS Competencies : Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for patients.
- Complete relevant documentation accurately.
- Prepare rooms for incoming patients by setting up IV pots and adjusting beds.
- Ensure that all patient belongings accompany them during transfers and discharge.
- Safely transport stable patients as needed.
- Maintain security and confidentiality while interacting with patients and their families.
- Clean, procure, and return equipment and supplies efficiently.
- Run errands within the unit as required.
- Help licensed personnel create a safe and comfortable environment, including replenishing water, linens, and towels.
- Perform unit-specific patient care tasks as documented in your skills checklist.
- Identify changes in patients' conditions and report them promptly to the nurse in charge.
- Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory stock items as needed.
- Keep unit supplies organized and accessible.
- Respond appropriately and swiftly to emergencies.
- Communicate effectively with team members between shifts.
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient call lights promptly.
- Adapt care methods to meet the unique needs of each patient, considering physical, psychosocial, and cultural factors.
- Demonstrate competence in providing assigned patient care responsibilities that address the developmental needs of patients.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.Experience
Preferred experience in patient care within an acute care setting.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
CNA License in the state of employment is required.BLS certification is required.Work Schedule : 7PM - 7AM
