FUNCTION : Intermediate Level Position. Applicant must be able to perform apprentice level duties as a crew member on GEUS Electric Line crews.
This position involves the construction, maintenance, and repair of a 12.47 kV overhead and underground electric distribution system.
Applicant must have a current Texas Class A CDL Driver's License. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as an electric line-worker is preferred.
Preference will be given to applicants with progressive training in an approved lineman training program and a current Texas CDL.
PRIMARY DUTIES :
Climbing poles, installing and maintaining primary and secondary lines. Clearing brush and trimming trees with possible exposure to poison ivy / oak may also be required.
The successful candidate will operate various equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, backhoes, brush chippers, tractors with brush hogs, chainsaws, and other gas and hydraulic tools associated with electric line work.
Must be able to take standby duty : i.e., after-hours, weekday, weekend, and holiday duty. Successful candidate will also be subject to emergency response after normal working hours.
Assist in other related duties as assigned. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and other employees.
