Job descriptionWork in the CVICU of a hospital setting focused on cardiothoracic surgery, transplants, and acuity-adaptable care Cares for patients requiring specialized cardiac and thoracic surgeries, heart and lung transplants, and medical device support Uses NextStage CVVH machine and telemetry monitoring equipment Available shifts include days or nights (7 : 00-19 : 30 or 19 : 00-7 : 30), with 8 or 12-hour options, every other weekend, and some holidays required No on-call shifts Flipping between day and night shifts restricted to no more than two times in six weeks, with at least 36 hours off between shift changes Floating required; travelers are the first to float and may be assigned to multiple units or locations to meet staffing needs Provide high acuity nursing care to cardiac and thoracic surgical, transplant, and critically ill patients Team delivers care with a blend of technology and patient-centered focus, supporting both patients and families Orientation held onsite, typically one week in duration; schedule and location communicated prior to start Strict telemetry and arrhythmia testing must be passed for assignment consideration Travelers must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; locals are not accepted First-time travelers are considered for some units Pass / fail testing, including a demanding telemetry examination, is strictly enforced Weekend rotation and some holiday coverage are required Parking at the facility requires a permit; alternative transportation options are available Active WI or compact RN license in hand BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association Minimum two years of acute care CVICU experience within the last three years is required Solid experience with NextStage CVVH machine Basic arrhythmia competency required; must pass a telemetry test prior to start Experience in cardiothoracic surgery or acuity adaptable units preferred High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
