A hospital in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide inpatient acute coverage on an ongoing basis. This is a MondayFriday position with flexible morning start times and participation in daily treatment team meetings. Providers can leave after completing rounds but must remain available by phone until 5 : 00 PM.

Schedule & Coverage

Coverage would be on an as-needed basis over the next 1-2 months as 1-2 weeks per month would definitely be sufficient for our needs

Days : MondayFriday

Hours : 8-hour days (start time flexible; must attend 9 : 00 AM treatment team)

On-Site Expectation : May leave after rounding but must remain on call by phone until 5 : 00 PM

Admissions : 2 / day

Discharges : 2 / day

Average Daily Census : 1618 patients per day

Staff : CPI-trained, RN station with adjacent consult rooms

Hospital Stroke Certified

Scope of Practice

Outpatient Work : May include occasional collaboration with day treatment centers

Inpatient Work :

Acute psychiatric unit

Sub-acute or residential treatment

Long-term psychiatric care

Clinical Focus Areas Include :

Anxiety & affective disorders

ADHD

Personality & eating disorders

Developmental & psychotic disorders

Organic mental disorders

Treatment Modalities :

Primary focus on pharmacotherapy

Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry Accepted

Fellowship Required

Active North Carolina Medical License Required

BLS Certification Required

EMR : HCS (Orders) & Fluency Flex (Notes)
