Job Summary
Adecco Permanent Recruitment is seeking a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join a well-established consulting firm as a Chief Electrical Engineer / Electrical Department Manager. This is a strategic leadership role where you'll guide a team of skilled engineers, manage complex electrical projects, and drive forward-looking solutions in energy, sustainability, and building performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of electrical engineers, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Oversee design and delivery of electrical service upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and building retrofit projects.
- Provide technical direction across low-voltage systems, building electrification, and MEP coordination; medium-voltage and fire alarm design experience are a plus.
- Manage projects across multiple sectors including higher education, healthcare, industrial, and municipal facilities, with a focus on modernization and performance upgrades.
- Contribute to advanced initiatives such as solar + battery storage, distributed energy resources, and EV-to-grid technologies.
- Ensure all work adheres to engineering standards, codes, and licensure requirements.
- Represent the team in client meetings and presentations, supporting project discussions and proposals as needed.
- Solve complex engineering challenges with practical, innovative, and sustainable approaches.
- Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities with existing clients, generating bookings, and presenting technical expertise in outreach or marketing efforts.
Qualifications and Must-Haves
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) (required); plus a willingness to obtain reciprocity if needed.10+ years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in consulting.Proven leadership experience or readiness to step into a leadership role.Technical expertise in retrofit projects, electrical service upgrades, low-voltage systems, and building electrification.Additional experience in medium-voltage systems, fire alarm design, distributed energy, or advanced energy technologies (i.e. EV to Grid) is a plus.Strong communication and client-facing skills, with ability to collaborate across disciplines.Analytical, adaptable, and collaborative leader with a problem-solving mindset.NFPA, NEC, ASHRAE, IECC, LEEDEqual Opportunity Employer / Veterans / Disabled
