About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and driven Director of Fundraising and Community Engagement to make a significant impact within our organization. This vital role focuses on building strong relationships to enhance financial support from our current backers, as well as attracting new supporters to champion our cause. Your efforts will help ensure equitable government funding and resources are available for yeshivas and Jewish day schools, making quality Jewish education accessible to all families.
As the Director, you will create and implement a strategic plan to boost community engagement and increase revenue through thoughtful solicitations, donor cultivation, and stewardship practices. You will be responsible for meeting our fundraising goals while maintaining strong connections with donors and actively involving the community in pivotal advocacy efforts.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in sales, fundraising, or a related field, demonstrating a proven track record of success. A deep commitment to Jewish education and advocacy is essential, along with the ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage details in a dynamic environment. Excellent communication skills, adaptability to changing situations, and a proactive problem-solving mindset are crucial for this role.
Having established connections within the New York Jewish community and schools is highly advantageous. A Bachelor's degree is preferred. Additionally, you will supervise a Development Associate and should possess skills in managing a CRM system for effective moves management.
