Equipment Operator

Site Location : Brooksville, ME

Environmental Quality Management, Inc. is a leading provider of environmental consulting, engineering and compliance, and remediation and construction management services to the industrial, public, and government sectors.

Minimum one year of experience in the operation of large hydraulic excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, motor graders, rubber-tired backhoes, and skid-steers.

Familiarity in various types of compactors, off-highway trucks and tractors, pumps, and generator operations. Perform all types of troubleshooting, repair, and equipment maintenance.

The individual must be capable of physical manual labor using shovels, rakes, and brooms to clean tracks each evening after the workday is complete.

Position includes operating heavy equipment to remove and replace soils on former mine reclamation sites. The individual may be required to switch from one piece of equipment and back within the same day.

The position will require working outdoors in the weather elements under adverse conditions at times. The company will provide personal safety equipment.

• Current 40-hour HAZWOPER and 10 hour OSHA Construction Safety certification required, EQM can provide if candidate is hired
• Experience performing duties related to the clean-up of hazardous waste or remediation sites
• Will utilize all types of personal protective equipment, have working knowledge of commonly used field equipment and gear
• Working knowledge of standard safety procedures dealing with hazardous materials
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be capable of manual labor using shovels, rakes, and brooms, as occasionally this will be required
• Must be able to switch between laborer and equipment operator duties as needed
